This report presents physical and functional descriptions and acoustical evaluations of various domestic and foreign silencers and silenced small arms weapons. Included are cross sectional drawings and external view photographs of all systems tested. As acoustical evaluations of each system is given in the form of far field sound pressure-time records. All major constituents of sound signatures are identified and time-correlated with their sources in the system. Additionally, the report presents a record of silencing principals and a theoretical analysis of the various noise generating phenomenon.

Full instructions and machinist's drawings of three different .22 rimfire silencers are included, utilizing materials commonly available at the local hardware store.  Unlike many home workshop designs, these actually work, and work well, having been constructed and tested by a licensed Class II manufacturer.  Contrary to popular belief, silencers are legal in many areas with prior BATF approval.  Illustrated.
